Hello everyone,

I am planning a trip around the world and I am going to visit Australia on the way. Due to the type of RTW ticket I am buying I can either visit Perth or Sydney but not both. Can anyone help me decide which to visit?

I am looking for an adventure, something to explore and somewhere with historical culture. Possibly with some diving but this is not essential as I can do that on a different section on my trip. Out of the two, which is more likely to provide me with more things to do and show me the best Oz has to offer?

Thanks to all in advance!

Sydney is a beautiful city and the oldest in Australia. There is much to see of the first settlements in Australia as well as a large number of sites of Aboriginal art predating European settlement. Sydney is also a big, vibrant modern city with plenty of things to do, wonderful beaches and good diving on reefs and wrecks both inside the harbour and off ocean beaches.

Perth is a pretty little town that tries because it is so far from anywhere else. I have always enjoyed myself in Perth but given a choice between Sydney and Perth, Sydney wins every time. If you could stop at only one place in the USA, would you choose New York or Pittsburgh? I am sure Pittsburgh is delightful, as is Perth, but New York is the place to visit, as is Sydney.

Both are super Cities. I would choose Sydney being more populated transport is made easy to get to places. . You can't compare sydney to the rest of Australia as the Country is so big and diverse. Don't know how long you will be here for . You can pick up some cheap domestic flights with jetstar or Virgin Blue if you have time to go elsewhere. While in Sydney though there is a lot to explore and you may like a day trip to The Blue Mountains.

Sydney is the more iconic place to visit with the Opera House and Harbour Bridge and then the Blue Mountains.

However if you want to see more of the real Australia Perth would be better, the city itself is nice but not the most exciting however it is a fantastic gateway to some amazing places such as:

Margret River (wine & surfing)

The Pinnacles

Monkey Mia (Dolphins)

Rottenness Island

Niggaloo Reef (100% quieter and prettier then the barrier reef)

Either way I hope you have a great time!

Sydney is FAR superior to Perth, and in my books a world class city. It's the only one here with any real venerability about it. If you decide on Sydney, check out the Blue Mountains, but if you decide on Perth, check out the karri forests to the south between Pemberton and Ballingup. Don't expect adventure from the cities.

The organic beauty of the islands continues to be certainly one of Hawaii's greatest assets. One of the most fascinating places to go to in Hawaii is Volcanoes National Park. This package offers a unique, up close search at a dynamic volcano and the recent landscape created by a volcano. Hot lava flows down the mountain part, and dry lava covers the street, showing their unstoppable force. Yet another place worth visit is the memorial Visitors Center, a hub that delivers famous info on the Harbor and the Japanese strike and the Battleship USS Missouri.

In Sydney you can benefit from the normal beauty. From unspoilt beaches to public gardens and, of course, the sparkling harbour, Sydney is a town worth visited and with hotelbye you could have the chance to do that. The Sydney Harbour Bridge or "Coathanger," as the residents contact it's among the places you shouldn't miss in your journey here. That place was the city's best-known landmark ahead of construction of the Opera House. Reinforced by massive dual piers at each conclusion, it absolutely was built-in 1932 and remains the world's biggest metal arch connection, linking the harbour's north and south shores in one single contour increasing 134 metros above the water. Along their size work two railway lines and ten shelves for street traffic, the way of which can be varied based on traffic flow. Also, to master in regards to the interesting record of the bridge's construction you are able to visit the memorial in the south-eastern pier.
