Hi all,

I have asked about Australia travel in another questions, but still need more help on this...kindly share with us your experiences!!^^

My wife and I will want to spend time at the beach, enjoy the sea and sun, and we really want to try out sky diving!! Also from the wonderful answers, I have some other questions...

1. Any beach, sea activities, sky diving spot that you all can recommend? I read there are many beaches along the coast of Australia, but which is good and fun?

2. I guess i'll nd to budget in the flights fr places to places now, however due to the flight&budget restriction, I got to start and end my journey in Melbourne...so will it be wise if I spend more time in Brisbane & Melbourne, and just add a day or 2 for Sydney? I know is a personal preference, but no harm to have more opinions...

3. I want to experience more of Aus. life style instead of just being a tourist, so any suggestions for me?

Thank you all so much!!

Melbourne's awesome! Best city of the lot in my opinion.

If you want Aussie lifestyle try going to St. Kilda: sunny beaches, beautiful shops, resteraunts, a theme park. Best at night when the people come out ;)

I've been to Brisbane. Brissy has some of the best beaches in Aus, to be a typical Aussie just stretch out your towel and sunbake all day. Worth a trip to the Gold Coast to go to the theme parks; amazing fun.

Sydney is busy. Not as laid-back as other places; a few days will be enough. Of course you'll want to do the opera house and harbour bridge. The climb is excellent but super expensive!

www.harbourjet.com/ - for an Aussie adventure: be prepared to get wet! Done this and is great fun.

Hope I could be of help, enjoy Oz. We love tourists. Hope our accents (what accents?) don't bother you!

http://www.jetstar.com/

you can pick up some good deals with jetstar

Try and have 4 or 5 days in Sydney at least . there is so so much to look at and you will want to go out to Bondi beach and the Northern beaches try www.wotif.com.au for accomodation . The Gold Coast beaches are great you probably wouldn't want more than a few days in Brisbane . there is an airport on the Gold Coast but if you fly to Brisbane then just 1 hour by train and the trains go every half hour. You could hire a car or campervan in sydney and drive to Brisbane

Re Melbourne seeing the trip is planned for July you simply must visit the Melbourne Cricket Ground to see Australian Rules Football. They get big crowds there and it is so exciting to see the way the supporters deck themselves out in the team colours and AFL is the heart and soul of Melbourne - most Melbournians have a team they love and footy is such a big deal in Melbourne - it's worth going just to see the way the supporters carry on - men women and children and painted faces etc. It is easy access by tram or train from Central Melbourne. Another must is to go to the Victoria Markets also easy access by tram. You should also visit the Botanical Gardens spread over a large area and you get to see black swans there too and eels (you can feed them) and a wide array of plants and trees there. Another touristy thing to do would be to go by train to Ferntree Gully and catch the old steam train which chugs up the Dandenong Ranges to the beautiful Lake Emerald. Also must go to Crown City Casino for a spot of gambling and eating and drinking. And don't miss the Melbourne Zoo either. St.Kilda and Carlton are also good places to visit - Lots of el fresco eateries and Luna Park is at St.Kilda Beach if you like amusement parks. All of these ideas are easy access to Melbourne Central but I would also suggest a day trip to Phillip Island to see the fairy penguin parade. Another good spot to go to is the Mornington Peninsular where one side is Bayside beach and the other side is Ocean Beach. Nearly forgot you must take a trip (a bus trip or car trip) along the Great Ocean Road say down to Lorne - few hours from Melbourne. Very interesting rock formations and stunning scenery - a highlight of your trip. You could look up some of these places on the net to get more details like "Great Ocean Road Victoria" Melbourne is in the State of Victoria. Oh take warm clothes on your trip. Re landmarks well Melbourne is mostly flat and doesn't have a beautiful harbour like Sydney but Melbourne has a heart and soul about it in its people that I feel unmatched in any other Australian Capital City. Worth seeing inside St.Paul's Cathedral too which is right near another Melbourne icon "Flinders Street Station". A day at the races too is a good thing to do - yes train to Flemington Race Course where they run the famous "Melbourne Cup" in November - awfully popular that is - a World Class Racecourse.
