North Queensland is perfect in August. This is the dry season. It can feel hot but not high in humidity.

South Queensland like Brisbane and the Gold coast. Perfect sunny days not hot but cold nights not freezing though

It's perfect in the tropical north ...best time of the year to see the reef , walk the rain forests , bungee jump..

It's cool in the south ...usually fine , sunny days but cooling at night & the winter westerlies start blowing mid August .

To someone coming from Britain, it will range from feeling like summer (low 20s) in the south to bloody hot in the north (up to high 20s).
