Try Palm Cove in Queensland:-).

It's 30 minutes drive from Cairns. It's a deal maker place and if the deal maker's already made, it's the best place for a baby maker if you know what I mean.

The place is very very romantic because:

1. White sand beautiful beach with palms everywhere - there're some hammocks where you can spend time with each other- relaxing, reading books, strolling the beach holding hands (sigh...)

2. Not as touristy as Port Douglas which means tranquility, peace, exclusive and private but you still can reach the main attractions such as diving/snorkle the great barrier reef :-)

3. YOu can walk everywhere - therefore more time to spend with each other

4. Lots of nice resorts (this place is designed for honeymoon lol - it's very romantic) and won't break your bank balance

These resorts provide massages where you can hear the sea/wave noise even when you sleep in your room

Check out one of my favourite:

Angsana resort, Palm Cove

http://www.angsana.com/gbr/facilities.html

Photo galleries (http://www.angsana.com/en/gbr/gallery.html)

There are other places such as :

- The sebel reef resort and spa

- Sea Temple resort and spa

5. Great restaurants including my favourite Nu Nu :-), you can have great food and nice cocktails

Has got to be treetops at Montville, QLD, cute little treehouses with spa, beautiful surroundings, great little shops, Eumundi markets, Fromagerie with insane cheeses in Maleny, makes you want to leave life as you know it behind for good!!

Lorne, Victoria is gorgeous. There are some lovely new apartments on the foreshore; the shopping is terrific, with lots of little boutique shops on the strip, and the trip there, on the great ocean road is delightful.

Rug up on a cold day, with the promise of an open fire and a brandy afterwards, and romance is inevitable.

If it's going to be sunny, take the soft top car and cruise there on the winding road with the fresh salt air cleansing your insides and out.

There are day spas, walks along the beach or into the falls, and wonderful eating places.

Enjoy, be in the moment, and rediscover love at Lorne.

Take her to the QLD hinterland for a romantic rainforest holiday. http://www.weekendsfortwo.com.au/destinations/qld_hinterland.htm

In particular, stay somewhere close to the Springbrook National Park. I absolutely LOVE this area. Natural Bridge is a must see while your there.

I love the rolling hills of the NSW South Coast.

You can rent a whole house for a week for very little and it's as nice to snuggle up and be cosy in the winter as it is to wander along the beach in the summer - you can always find one that has nobody as far as the eye can see.

Plus it is fun to poke around the shops in places like Berry, Kiama and Gerringong and to visit all the cafes and restaurants that often deliver better service, food and value than places in the city.

My partner and I go down there often when we want to get away - it's not far from Sydney but it's a great opportunity to relax and spend some time together.

Bruce, I agree with what seems like only one person who answered, but would like to expand on the theme.

If you are with your wife, it will be romantic. Just the effort you put in to being with her and sharing time together is more important than any beautiful poolside resort or beach in the world.

The most romantic place for you to be is in your wife's heart. Fall into her smile, catch a glimpse of yourself in her eyes, drown in her scent and arms and you will never need any other place as long as you are together.

Enjoy your holiday and say "I love you" often.

It has to be yachting around Kangaroo Island preferably in the summer. A yacht moving under spinnaker power with full sails is a sight to behold either in the boat or from the shore. It was so romantic ---candle light dinners fishing and swimming during the day---- at some of the loveliest and unpopulated beaches.......and lots of great places to eat if you need a change and some civilisation

If you want to getaway to Queensland (the only one I would reccomend), then I would suggest either the Sunshine Coast or Cairns.

Both have airports that go to Melbourne and Sydney so its easy acccess, both have a relaxed set up and lots of variaty.

The Sunshine Coast isnt just beaches. We also have the Eumundi Markets, the Glasshouse Mountains and other small attractions. Its a nice spot just to get away. No big attractions, just nice and relaxed.

And Cairns....well, the Reef, the Food, they also have a lovely hinterland. Or go out on a romantic island and get away from the footy altogether!

good luck with whatever you choose and one more tip; Dont fly Jetstar!!!

good luck mate

Now Bruce -this is a secret- but the most romantic getaway is Tasmania!

OK - let me paint a you a picture.

Where do I begin ?

A fine blue sunny day exploring antique shops in Hobart, -

the snow glistens on Mt Wellington as you take to the floating restaurant boats on Constitution dock to eat oysters and champagne.

Saturday stroll on the Salamanca side to munch and marvel at the fresh gourmet produce and unique craftspeople.

Cold crisp dare I say refreshing night air, to the cinema, pop corn and jaffa's of course.

Meander through history and feed the ducks under Richmond Bridge, feast on the tenderest yearling steak King Island can produce and drink the mulled cider at the Richmond Arms in front of a crackling fire. Move if you dare to !

Run the gauntlet of the east coast and buy a lobster from the fishermen at St Helens spoil yourselves to the wines of Piper's River. Lounge in Launceston's 5 star International Hotel and catch the floor show at the Casino or( boogie all night). See the Tamar River cruise the Art gallery and head to the wild west coast to the Cradle Mountain retreat to feed the beasties at night!

Tour into the rugged beauty of the forrests & visit the wildlife at Churnside and Western Tiers.

Fly (Trout) fish the lakes from Sheffield and don't miss the artwork of the Murals.

Dance with the Morris people at the Evanston Pennyfarthing races and admire the Georgian architecture of the landed gentry at Longford.

Fly drive packages on the best sealed and posted roads in Australia, or relax in luxury cabin suites on the Spirit of Tasmania overnight from Port Melbourne to Devonport and back 3 times a week.

Once is not enough - forever is too short a time,

it's beyond description and more beautiful than I remember.

Bon Voyage !

Travelling too far can take the romance out of anything. Aim for someplace within 2 or 3 hours from you.

Romantic in the City:

Get a room in a hotel near a theatre (enough floors up so you don't hear the drunks at night) with room service so she doesn't have to do anything. It needs spa, pool, good variety of meals ... and no massage ... that is for you to give her.

Romance in the hills:

There are horse riding hire places that is a different escape. Some have 3 day treks from the hills to the beach (eg. west of Melbourne, towards the Otways). Sure it is in a group, but you want meals, tent site preparation and guides around. Also, 72 hours in each other's face may be too testing for some couples.

Romance at home:

- the smell of flowers and candles

- kids off to camps or sleep overs

- answering machine keeps the phone happy

- and (you'll hate me for this, Bruce) she is not allowed in the kitchen. You have to cook and clean up dinner. That is so romantic for her.

If you want to take her somewhere special, the why not try Marysville. It's nestled at the bottom of the dividing ranges only an hour and a bit east of Melbourne. Plenty of diverse accommodation from the caravan park ( i have stayed there owners are great) thru to B&B's such as Allawah cottages (the owners are also really nice) and up to your top of the market places - Maryland's country house (no never stayed there - out of my price range!) There's also plenty to do in the area; fishing, bushwalks for all levels of walkers, Lake mountain is up the hill where if you go in winter x-country skiing and tobogganing. There's also great cafes such as Fraga's and the patisserie; the staff at fraga's are fantastic.

If this sounds like a schmooze it is, my partner and i fell in love with it and moved here 7 years ago. It truly is a romantic place.

For more in fo on the place check the websites: www.marysvilletourism.com or marysville.com.au

And just for the record; no i am not on the tourist board or anything ;)

Hope it helps

Find out where one of your wifes favourite performers is playing on the night of a full moon. Base your getaway on that town. There are many great locations in Australia so it doesn't really matter exactly where you are. Once you have found the town organise your holiday around whatever that town offers. On the night of the performance, prepare a gourmet food hamper that you have made yourself (very important), complete with wine or whatever your favourite tipples are. Take her to a secluded beach or clifftop to dine while the moon rises over the water and then onto the show. She can know all about the holiday but she musn't know about the show night, that has to be a surprise.

Everyone should go to Cairns.

It is a beautiful destination for a holiday. The food and atmosphere will stay with your 'happy' memories for a very very long time.

I went there for my honeymoon and loved it. We went scuba diving/snorkeling on the Great Barrier Reef with a group of 15 people. Lunch... equipment.... everything was provided. Loved it. The Great Barrier Reef is beautiful.

We went up to the mountains via a chair lift ride and visited the beautiful butterfly sanctuary and enjoyed a nice train trip back down the mountain.

You don't need a car, because all the services have a bus pick up from your hotel. So you can have a few drinks with your lunch and not have to worry about driving. It is an affordable destination where you can really enjoy yourself and relax.

The top end anywhere is absolutely beautiful. I loved near Katherine in the Northern Territory as Cataranka springs is near there and they are lovely, romantic, warm and a nice aqua green-blue. Also Broome has the bluest beaches & whitest sand & really friendly locals. Greenery everywhere and right now is spring so you have all those beautiful flowers in bloom and THAT is romantic. Cairns is a lot like Broome just opposite sides & you can drive up to the Daintree and apparently since I was there they have built a platform walk all through rain forest & the beautiful flora and fauna is so colourful. you can also go down from Cairns to Hervey Bay which is right near Fraser Island (worlds biggest sand Island) which is pure white. They also have a lot of dolphins and whales at Hervey Bay and Fraser Island. Of course you can opt for the usual Qld Island Whitsundays, Barrier Reef)getaway if your wife is the type who prefers to lay in the sun & drink cocktails. Hey Australia is too beautiful to mention all the best places but I WAS born in the Blue Mountains so I do have to give them a mention as they truly are breathtaking esp. the three sisters at Echo Point and the 1000 stair walk down then the hard part of walking back up but we had to run up and down every week for cross country in high school. Fresh air and clear nice tasting water too!! Plenty of sights to see & waterfalls. A lot of horseriding there too which can be romantic if u pack a picnic lunch. Have a lovely holiday & ur wife is lucky to have someone who cares about her so much that u r willing to ask us here. Cheers !!!!!

Mission Beach.

Actually a series of beautiful palm lined beaches with views of turquois waters to Dunk Island. Tropical rainforest, palm forest and the famous cassowary.

Water taxi to Dunk for the day or take the old ferry from Clump point, or rent a little vessel and float away.

Still not fully discovered, the charms of the area is enhanced by the laid back nature of the locals. Kids go to school barefoot while parents gossip over coffee. Many hello's as you pass strangers in the street. Though very nice cottage accommodation can be found it is nice to see caravan parks still have prime ocean position. Still feels a little like yesterday's Australia.

It may become a very expensive holiday as I guarantee your wife will not want to leave without purchasing a little real estate.

Here is a pic!

Montville QLD is the most romantic place I've ever spent time in. We stayed in a self contained cabin that faced a little lake. They have only about 10 cabins. Very private, rain maker machine you can operate, made you feel like it was raining outside on your roof. There are beautiful cafes, shops in the town & a winery up the road. We had total peace & serenity, had a BBQ gourmet hamper delivered to our door that we cooked on our verandah. Went for a paddle on the lake. Could not hear anyone else there as the cabins are built far apart. Piped music filled our cabin. The views are glorious of the sunshine coast from the town centre of Montville. You can go to the beach for the day then travel back up the mountain at night. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to enjoy something special that will last a lifetime in happy memories

The Mouses House in Springwood QLD.

It sounds like a place you would want to avoid, but wowee it is just the most spectacular place. Romance at its finest!!

It is located in the middle of a rainforest in the hinterlands & is so amazingly beautiful. The possums actually visit you each night & allow you to hand feed them! Just a short walk to some of the most incredible lookouts in the area.

Just stunning.

I think it is so special because I spent the first few days of my Honeymoon there last year. They have little chalets that are named after the Seven Dwarfs in Snow White... we stayed in Happy :o)

The chalets have everything you could possibly need for a weekend or week. Private bathrooms with spa. Fully furnished. Complete kitchen. Fireplace but if you are terrible at lighting them as we were there is always the split system air con ;o)

They have a sauna & hot tub....haha what an experience!!!! Bikes to hire, tennis court or just never leave the chalet!!! It is so close to perfection for me I cannot wait to return!!

One year when we are rich enough we are going to stay in The Wicked Witch hehehehehehehehe

Even if you dont stay there at this point in time & have not yet had the honour of staying there, please do so, it is as I said, just amazing!!!

You should definitely try Marysville . It is a very small beautiful town in the mountains of the Yarra Glen region, Victoria. I was taken there on my anniversary. I stayed at the Maryland's Country House..

The service was fantastic, they offer the widest range of things to do like: wine tasting, horse riding, bike riding, tennis, swimming, and lots more . Also about 5 or 10 minutes down the road is Stevensons Falls which is just gorgeous .

Marysville is very quiet and private ....a great place for a romantic getaway I think.

Hi! a beautiful area to have a romantic holiday would be the Rocks area in Sydney. You can stay at the ANA hotel as some of their suites faces the Sydney Opera House and its a beautiful view in the day and night. Also, one can take strolls along the Rocks area and for ladies nothing beats a bit of shopping too. Most important, admidst the city area, we can still feel "nature" when walking along the Rocks area and replenish your energy in some of the small cafes and over drinks reminisces old days , people watch and just forget time and enjoy the atmosphere!

Take your queen to the beautiful countryside of the New England district and stay in a Scottish castle on 14,000 acres, and lies next to a National Park. Kings Plains Castle outside of Glen Innes and Inverell is a weekend bed and breakfast. Collen is the owner and the most gracious hostess. There is a pool room, tennis court and acres to relax upon. Glen Innes and Inverell have lots of shopping, wineries etc to do if you would want to leave the castle. Glen Innes has the Australian Standing Stones and Crofters Cottage has the best coffee in the world. We went for our 1st anniversary and it was heavenly. We drove up the New England Highway and the towns along the way were outstanding, countryside amazing and relaxing.

Mountain Heritage Hotel & Spa in Katoomba, Blue Mountains is another option if closer this way. They have romantic packages with free bottle of sparkling wine and chocolates, also a spa option with fizzes for the bath and lotions for pampering. With the Heritage rooms with a view there is panaramic views of Katoomba and the Jamieson Valley, their restaurant has wonderful food and fireplaces are a nice place to cuddle. Room 14 (if you ask for it) is in the castle spire that is attached to the hotel. It has beautiful views, a balcony overlooking the pool and gardens, spa and fireplace. Room 43 is downstairs and has a patio facing the valley and a spa. Room 4 is a complete suite with kitchen, spa, fireplace in living room. Or the Valley View apartments off of the hotel are added privacy with wrap around veranda. It is 5 min walk from downtown Katoomba for all the great cafes, shopping and on the bus line for short ride to Three Sisters and Leura Mall shopping.

watching the Sun set in WA, Preferably on beach with a Champion , and a nice person to cuddle with in the far north west with no one around for 100 miles. Also recommend some of the local beers, and food.

Go to arnam land and meet locals who still live more traditional lives. See that not all people are bad and some are quite nice. Little Ularu, Tip of cap york if isolated and away from people. the Pillbarra area WA, to fly over or walk through. Sun rise on the tip of Mt Mourning the north coast of NSW, and watch the wales, or help protect a sea turtle as it lays it eggs. or watch the hatching's battle to the surf.

When finished fly back to Sydney see the lime stone caves in the blue mountains, and Finnish with A night time helicopter ride over Sydney or Melbourne just on Sunset.

Thats got to be the beautiful Barossa Valley. Not only does it produce some of the countries premium wines, but the country side is just breath taking. Driving through the rolling hills that are covered in Golden yellow, or lush green vines is as romantic as it gets. I would recommend staying in a Bed & Breakfast called Oldham House. Its pure Luxury. And they also organise special tours around the valley for you if you like. There web address is www.oldhamhouse.com.au

If it's summer, South West WA to the Margaret River Wine Region is amazing. We drove from Perth to Dunsborough to Margaret River (we've done it twice now we loved it so much) and had an absolute ball. It's full of beautiful forrest, beautiful coast line and wineries everywhere! Winter time it rains quite a bit but is still beautiful. You will need to be driving and exploring while you are there. There are loads of really nice places to eat, drink and galleries to see etc.

Otherwise I agree the Whitsundays would be amazing but I've never been. Some friends of mine hired a private yatcht to explore for a week on their honeymoon. Now that is romantic!

I've only had one instance that I really wanted to visit Australia on a "romantic holiday" and it is probably far less romantic than the general concept is. I would like to visit the site of the rabbit proof fence walked by the girls whom escaped from the Moore River Native Settlement. I suppose my idea of romance doesn't include fancy drinks and clean beaches, but rather, a struggle in life to be where you belong...which is with whom you love.

If you want a really fascinating city to invest your holiday then that city is Melbourne, learn that city with hotelbye . Among the prime tourist attractions in Melbourne may be the Royal Botanic Gardens. Recognized in 1846, the Royal Botanic Gardens is ranked as one of the best of their sort in the world. Protecting an area of 40 hectares and with an increase of than 50,000 crops, including many rare species, the gardens are visited by 1.5 million people annually. Yet another place worth visited is Federation Square exposed in 2002 to observe 100 years of federation. The ultra-modern design of open and closed places juxtaposes the surrounding Victorian architectural buildings. That place can hosting a lot more than 2,000 activities annually, tourists will generally discover activity in the main outdoor efficiency space and close interior venues. Federation Square also properties the Ian Potter Gallery focused on Australian art and the Australian Centre for the Moving Image.

On holidays last year we went to Cairns but the best part was Port Douglas many romantic getaways there, very peaceful and many attractions, you can go sailing or fine dining. Another great little place is Bright in Victoria very peaceful and the wine tours are great, hot air ballooning and much more, nicer in summer time or Spring & Autumn, a bit to busy in winter tho

I like Springbrook mountain on the Gold Coast. It is always so cold up there it is a novelty to rug up, and you can stay in cabins with fireplaces and spa baths that over look creeks. It is nice to walk through the bush to the waterfalls and hear all the birds in the morning. I also like the little cafes around for tea and scones, and the little arts and craft stores.

Also if you are not from the coast, you can fly into the coast, stay the first night right on the beach somewhere (don't forget Versace is here) and than go up into the mountains.

A few romantic places are:

O'Reilly's at the Lamington National Park near Canungra in QLD. Beautiful rainforest retreat, isolated from everything. Lovely rainforest walks and you can come back and be cosy by the fire.

I agree with the person that recommended Montville. We stayed at a beautiful B & B there called 'Monbii'. Nice and quiet and beautiful scenery.

Otherwise, if you're looking for something beachy, I loved the Whitsundays.

Good luck!

Alice Springs and Ayres Rock.

Drive throught the MacDonell ranges to Ormiston gorge and stay the night, then work your way back to The Alice visiting all the gorges on the way. Serpentine gorge is really special (oops, sorry) it is just like walking into a natural cathedral. The road in is a bit rough but well worth it. Every time we stopped on the way home south my wife always said we had turned the wrong way.

Makes a big difference in Oz.

I would hire the Lady Nelson (an historic brig) out of Hobart and sail along the Derwent toward Bruny Island.

Your wife is lucky to have you, thinking like this! Wish my hubby would do things like that and appreciate me in the way you do yours.

I think with an attitude like that, anywhere that you take her would be special and you would make it romantic!

But probably anyway secluded and by the water would be lovely. And in Australia we have ample places to go, what about Seven Spirit Cove in NT or El Questro in WA? Depends alot on your budget too. Anyway in the Whitsundays or maybe Lord Howe Is or Norfolk too. Just somewhere you both can sit back and relax. Enjoy wherever you decide!

Hi there Bruce :)

Well ive been going to this place since i was 3 years old,

Its called Apollo Bay and its in Victoria past lorne/great ocean rd

(you probably already know this)

My family own a beach house there, and ive pretty much been brought up there, i love the getaway feeling, the calm of the beach, the quiet little town, the peaceful atmosphere, and the car ride is a nice scenery too!!

They have some really nice pubs to have dinner at and go for live entertainment, lawn bowls and fishing, canoe trips to see the seals and penguins, and other great things to do like sight seeing up in the mountains and other events that go on yearly.

The best time to go there if you want entertainment would be around november - february (they have a fare on with rides and such for the school holidays), if you like peace and quiet the best times to go would be when its not school holidays!

Pretty much August and September!

You also see some wildlife in trees on the way there if your lucky, i have many times.

I love going to Apollo Bay it feels like home and everyone is so friendly and everyone has something interesting to say.

This would be perfect for a weekend away, maybe not a big classy holiday but if you like peace and quiet and just time away from city life then this would be for you.

oysters and champagne.

I spent the first 6 months of 2007 in Gawler, South Australia, but I spent most of my time in the Barossa Valley and surrounding towns.

My impression of the the area was "if I ever get married I'd love to come here for my honeymoon." except I would base myself in Tanunda because it is central to everything.

If you like locally made wine and produce you can go to a different winery every day including Maggie Beers - very romantic.

The scenery is romantic with lots of green rolling hills and lots of lookouts.

If you like art and history, the area is rich in it and there are roses everywhere!

SA tourism has loads of info and the info centre in Gawler is very good too.

March, April will have the nicest weather.

Hi Bruce;

Airlie Beach is the getaway to the Whitsundays without having to go all the way up to Nth Queensland and I 'd recommend it as you then have a myriad of mini-destinations either by yacht, cat, helicopter o plane at your daily disposal. Tremendous

Just up the hill from Landsborough, Sunshine Coast, Qld, is the most adorable little b&b with the most spectacular views and total peace and quiet, away from peering eyes. I know you will love it there. Not sure of the name of it, so if any one knows where I mean, can you let Bruce know? When you get to Landsborough, go straight up the range, you'll see Eagles Knob turn off on your left and this gorgeous little place just up to your right. Hope you both enjoy your time off.

Maldon, in country Victoria.

It's a historic town, with beautiful scenery as well as being quiet and laidback. There is a great real-coffee cafe in the centre, near the petrol station. There is also an old steam train running from Maldon to Castlemaine, so you can make a day of it. There are lots of art galleries and antique shops, and you can go for a hike to the old gold mine, which is a lot of fun.

Hayman Island!

A whole island on the Great Barrier Reef with just one resort on it... No kids in sight, some seriously good food, and lovely activities: Champagne sunset picnic, snorkeling (just off the beach, no need to go any further) and lots of others.

Great staff to guest ratio, they offer wonderful service and are non-intrusive.

A true luxury destination, without pretentiousness.

I'd found a little campsite near Bundaburg (there's a turtle rookery next door to it). It was THE most romantic place I'd ever been. It was magical. The way the waves lapped the shore and the thick heat made us feel alive. It truly was a special place that I will always remember.

when we talk about romantic getaway we think of place,... well a place is not as romantic if someone will be there to annoy you. so, go somewhere where it is not too much people, nor a place where you do some competitive activity. peaceful, nice view, not so much people just totally escape from stress. WOODY ISLAND in Western Australia.... just perfect mate.

I love the outback. My mum and dad drove out to Western Austraila for their honeymoon. The said it was so quite, peaceful and away from prying eyes. The colours are so beautiful and the waterholes are lovely. There is no traffic, no city and no mobile phone signal. Plus seeing as it is now nearly winter it won't be boiling hot. So i'm recommending Western Australia

Right next to the great barrier reef and cape tribulation. Enjoy scuba diving, bush walks, swimming, cable water skiing and most of all relaxing!

Coming from the south coast - Shellharbour. My bf took me to Manly for a weekend, I thoroughly enjoy it. He organised to borrow his cousins yacht and made the effort to romance me.

The South Coast is a beautiful region, Kiama is popular and has the slower romantic edge while still being close to things to do. Coolongatta estate is lovely for a weekend away also. My suggestion would be to base yourself in Kiama but visit Gerringong and Berry also. In Kiama there are some lovely little beachside cabins.

Jamberoo is another option, same distance as Kiama but inland, bout a 10min drive to Kiama. Jamberoo is known for the recreation park. Jamberoo Valley Lodge offer a good weekend package. Accomodation (not a 5 star hotel but a decent 3star), full breakfast, and a three course dinner $165 per couple. Available on Friday and Saturday nights.

Head north to the Hunter Valley and Newcastle or perhaps Nelsons Bay area.

If you have any questions on the area feel free to email me via the link on my profile.

Beautiful White sands, crystal clear clean water, sand dune tours, camel rides, 4wd tours, quad bike tours, great surf beaches, a nudist beach, a beautiful harbour with beautiful beaches, national parks, bush walks, sight seeing, lookouts, boat tours, charter boat tours, sailing, dolphin and whale watching, twilight dinner cruises, golf, fishing, relaxation, a range of great resorts and accomodation, top restaurants, great night life, free bands...and much much more. The place I recommend to stay is Samurai Beach Resort.

I dont think you can go past the Margaret River region of South-West of W.A. It is mine and my husbands favourite place. Depending on your taste you can choose from beach, river or secluded forest accomodation. We like to stay in self-contained accomodation, chalets in the forest. There is nothing more relaxing than, after a day sightseeing than sitting on the verandah having a bbq of local yabbies followed by a glass of local wine and local cheeses, watching the sunset. Bliss.

A lovely driving holiday through the SW of WA, a B&B one night, a horse drawn camper the next, waking up to the smell of fresh bread and the smell of woodfires, the lovely misty valleys and quaint little cabins with the sound of bubbling brooks to stir you from your warm comfy bed. curling up with a nice local bottle of red in front of the fire after a great meal at one of the many classy eateries, either attached to a vineyard or close by.

Does it really matter where you go? You can make it as romantic as you want, it doesn't make any difference where you go. Special moments don't need special places.

There are some lovely new apartments on the foreshore; the shopping is terrific, with lots of little boutique shops on the strip, and the trip there, on the great ocean road is delightful.

I would have to say Tasmania, it is so beautiful and serene, and there is nothing more romantuc than stopping in one of their quaint cabins with a log fire burning.

My impression of the the area was "if I ever get married I'd love to come here for my honeymoon." except I would base myself in Tanunda because it is central to everything.

It's not where you are it's who you're with!

i quite like toowoomba, cos it is where i hang out with my boyfriend over christmas cos his family live there, but without him i think it would be quite a dull town.

Weel Hayman Island is now out of my reach.

Hamilton Island is now my choice for island escapes.

All is there.......great food.......plenty of room...........sunsets.

activities for all..........the island bar for happy hour.

There are many choices regarding accomodation including self contained units.........or the hotel.worth the time to investigate.

Ha, I'm not telling, otherwise it wouldn't be romantic anymore. But it is a very secluded beachside village in a remote area and on the edge of a National Park. We literally have the place to ourselves. By the way, clothes are optional he he!
