Dear Mark,

Australia is currently experiencing the largest economic growth since March 1973!

A recent report released by the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) shows that Australia has continued to experience strong economic growth, with Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growing by 1.2% in the latest annual quarter. The growth reported through 2010 up until the June quarter is 3.3%.

Australian businesses are struggling to find the skilled and experienced workers they need to meet the demand. You have listed your occupation as Carpenter And Joiner, which means you may be eligible to live and work in Australia with your family.

According to your profile, you meet the minimum requirements to apply for an Australian Work Visa. We recommend you act now and start your application as soon as possible, as immigration laws can change without warning, and you may miss out.

To help you lodge your application faster, we recommend the Advanced Migration Service, designed to save you time by guiding you through every step of the Australian visa application process.

To obtain the Advanced Migration Service, please follow this link:

Well, it's not strictly a scam, but they are a ripoff. They will charge you a great deal upfront to lodge a visa application that you would have been able to lodge without their assistance. There is NOTHING they can do to help you get a visa faster and there is NOTHING they can do to get a visa that you would not have been able to get by your own efforts. If you fill in their online assessment, they will drive you crazy for ages until you sign up with them. If you really want to use a migration agent, there are better ones who are far more competent, less expensive and will give better and more personal service.

There is only one place you should get your advice and visas from - the official Australian Immigration website (link below). You can do everything through there without having to go through middlemen. Don't trust third parties - go to the source first.

One of my pet hates is ads and cons by so called Migration Agents.

My personal opinion is that they and leeches will do nothing for you except suck as much out of you as they can.

Immigration applications to Australia are ridiculously easy to complete.

If you have a half decent command of the English language you should have no difficulty whatsoever filling in the forms and doing it all yourself for free.

Dont know what visa to apply for?

Easy, ring , write, e-mail , the Embassy/Consulate nearest you and ask.

Funny thing about Aussie Govt Depts,--they are available to ring up and ask and its a free service.

You dont need to pay these 'Agents' big bucks to tell you what you can find out for free now do you?

Anything and everything you need to know is on the Immi .gov website.

Anything you dont know/not sure of---what did I tell you to do?

Then do it, save yourself a lot of hassle and mucking around not to mention , money.

The 'hook' agents use is to somehow convince you they can guarantee a visa.

False/lies/wrong/untrue.!!!!!!!

The only people who can in any way authorise the issuing of a visa are the officials who process the application at the Immigration Dept.

Pay any sum to anyone else outside that Dept who tell you that using thier service is a guarantee and you have just been scammed.

Only Dept of Immigration issue visas.

Agents issue nothing but hefty and regular fee schedules.

Anyone solicitiong like the letter you received is a con artist.

Do it yourself, save the money and get it all taken care of by the Dept. They know what they are doing and do it all to strict guidelines which I 100% assure you--there are no getting around or easy 'Agent' fixes.

You meet the criteria or you dont, end of story. No agent can change that.

Unfortunately, I found out too late that this site was not associated to the official Australian Government site. I had paid A$115.40 for what would have cost me A$40.00 on the official site.

This company is terrible! They had deceptive Paid Google Search Display ads that made it seem like I was applying for an ETA on the Australian Government page. It was very easy to make this mistake if you weren t paying attention closely. Then, after noticing upon receipt of my email, I asked for a refund, which they said would cost an administration fee of US$29, which costs even more than an ETA through the Australian Government page! Total joke of a company!!
