help on moving to australia, is the only way going through an agencies?

me and the family are looking in2 moving 2 australia, i've looked into these agencys and they all wanting money,, i've been told to be careful of sum agencies as there'll take as much money as they can get from you. is there any other way of going about this or is the only way is going throu the agencies that ask for large amounts of money. please help as i want to start te ball rolling as soon as possible. i am moving from the uk

An agency is a must, it would be very unlikely you could do it on your own, actually I doubt you could. I went with one and they charged me and my fiancee £1200 on top the £1000 visa.



The move will cost you allot of money,don't expect to do it cheap because you won't, also its a long process and took from thinking of moving and to me being in Aus it took 2 years. Also don't forget that you will need money to get your selfs on your feet when you get to Aus.

I know allot of people say you don't need to go through an agency, I made the mistake of getin my TRA (trades recognition Australia) that you need to get befor you can apply for a visa and applied for it off my own back and it was rejected I hadnt givin know were near enough info that they wanted, and my trade is in the wanted list of trades, so I went through an agentcy and they went through everting I needed to do and they would check everything first befor sending it off, and guess what I was accepted! and then they did my visa with me.



This is how much info they wanted off me just to get my TRA



1. where I did my apprentiship

2.exact dates of when I started and when I left

3.who trained me

4 how i improved day to day in my training

5.what tools and equipment i used in all my jobs

6.what were my day to day tasks in all my jobs

7. go through all procedures of all jobs that I would ccome across

8. show pics of me working

9. get VERY detailed refrences with the aboe info in them

10. get all my qualifications

11. copy of passport

12 two pass port pics



Once I got that then it was a simaler amount of effort to get visa, so its better going through an agency rather than wasting my time getting somthing little wrong getting refused and then having to wait two years befor I can re-apply.

Also if I didnt get visa the company would refund my money.



I have done the move this year so I know what is needed to get a visa in 2008.

If you want the best advice on getting to Australia go to the people who know it best. The Aust. Embassy is the most helpful and informative place to look. There you will get all the right info and much more. They have local papers delivered from all round the country so you can read whats going on in Darwin or South Oz or WA etc. Give those agents a wide birth and save your hard earned money. Australia is a great place to live and visit. Good luck in your endevours.

There is no need at all to use an agency, you can arrange it just as well yourself much cheaper. See www.immi.gov.au for all the info and how to apply. The agencies just fill in the same forms for you and you aren't any more likely to be accepted.



You will need to have a skill on the skills in demand list.

Migration agents are the last place you should go through. If someone's applying for a visa to a corrupt or inefficient country, they may have a part to play, but Australia is neither and agents are completely unnecessary and their services are a total waste of money. There is absolutely nothing they can do to get your visa any faster or to get a visa that you wouldn't have been granted anyway by your own efforts.



You can do everything yourself without too much difficulty if you can fill out forms and follow simple instructions.



You will be looking at some form of skilled migration so you should begin with the lists of required occupations and if yours is on there, take steps to have your skills recognised in Australia. All the info you need on the lists and skills recognition is here:

You must meet health and character requirements and once you've applied for your visa, you'll be told by your DIAC case manager what you need to do to meet them. They are:

Years lateer I was looking to go to New Zealand, the agency I went to see was gonna cost me, not big bucks, about £1500, but didn't offer anything different to what I had done myself in going to SA!

no you dont go to agencys at all , that is just a scam, you need to go to Aussie Consulate in U. K you have to be skilled workers in some sort of trade and under 45 years of age.

It is not easy getting a permanent residency and you have to go to Gov

to do this its the only way
