abiotic factors, Climate in the Great Barrier Reef is sub-tropical in the South, and more tropical as you head North. There are just two seasons instead of the normal four; a wet season and a dry season. The wet season occurs between November into March when up to 2 meters of rain can fall over 5 months. The Southern regions typically see around half that amount. The most unpleasing characteristic of the tropical climate is the immense humidity. This can become unbearable during the climax of the wet season, or when temperature get to 30 - 35 degrees Celsius all along the coastline.
