What's the cheapest way to get to New Zealand for 5 weeks?

Looking for airfare only. Flying into Aukland and out of Christchurch.

You haven't said when you want to go and from what city. I assume you're flying from the US? What you want is what the airline people call and "open jaw" which means you can fly into one city, make your own way to another, and fly out of that city. Most websites don't have the technology to book that. You'd be best off to call the 800 numbers for Qantas and Air New Zealand and get prices (or your favorite Travel Agent). Most airfares to NZ nowadays allow a 1 year stay so the 5 weeks limit is not a big deal.



Here's the number for Qantas 800-227-4500. I don't have the other cause I don't fly on them.



There's a link below to a price from $910 (add taxes) in and out of the same city though.
