How long will it take to mail stuff from Queensland to Melbourne?

I brought a jumper on ebay and I want to wear it on tuesday. Its sunday today and I was wondering if it will come on time? Does post office work on sundays?
How long will it take for the package to come from Queensland to Melbourne?
Would the package come faster with express shipping? How much faster?
Will the package be able to be shipped out today and be mailed to me by monday?

The answer is most definitely you will NOT receive it in time to be able to wear it Tuesday morning. The very best you could hope for is that it will arrive sometime on Tuesday.



According to the Australila Post website, "Delivery of your Express Post item is guaranteed within the Express Post delivery network on the next business day, provided your item is correctly addressed and lodged (or collected by Australia Post) by the required time on any business day Monday to Friday."



So even if the sender is willing to post by Express Post on Monday, you will not receive it until Tuesday.

The post office is not open on a Sunday!



The best option (& the one most likely to see you wearing your jumper on Tuesday) is to request that the ebay seller express posts the item to you!



You might need to pay a little extra for this (depending on the weight/size of the jumper ~ possibly around $10).



EDIT ~ You will not get it until the following day!!! ie If it is express posted on Monday... it will arrive on Tuesday!

unlikely it will be taken anywhere near a post office until monday I would have thought



generally I expect parcels to arrive within about 3 days on the east coast



so ... no



if you are dealing with a private seller you could ask if they can send quickly via a faster service .. almost anything is possible

It takes three to five working days. Some eBay sellers are however lazy, and post items later than stated. I had one seller say he posted an item on a Monday, when they actually posted it on a Friday.
